Visiting Sauna Embricana

We had the pleasure of visiting Sauna Embricana, just across the Dutch border near Nijmegen, in Germany. It’s a real blend of cultures, with a mix of guests from both countries.
Their wellness resort is connected to a swimming pool, but they created a really good divide in both style and atmosphere. While the pool area feels exactly like what you’d expect from a public swimming pool, the wellness area is completely separate and feels modern, warm, and clean, with all facilities close by. The layout is very open, and since most of it is outdoors, they planted tall, shielding greenery that creates a sense of privacy and coziness.

During our visit we enjoyed many Aufguss sessions by the Embricana team. They host sessions in their event sauna every hour, and besides that, they offer different types of rituals in their other saunas.

I (Sigrid) also gave two sessions myself. I performed my dance Aufguss Rhythm there, we could close the windows and create some atmospheric lighting to match the story. The guests were so kind and enthusiastic, giving me so much energy.

The second Aufguss session was extra special because we had been talking for a long time about performing together, and finally the moment had come. We gave a relaxing and elegant session, ending with some woman power 💪🏼💗 I enjoyed every minute of it.

Our final Aufguss of the day was one we watched: a session by Martin Stinsshof, a saunamaster and guest at Embricana as well. We met him during our latest Sauna Master retreat, and he blew us away with his movements and style, such control and calmness, perfectly matching the Nordic music!

One last thing about Embricana: the food. Very delicious and fairly priced! They have a traditional German-style kitchen, but they’ve also adopted many modern and surprising twists on classic dishes. For example, their sweet potato fries with a goat cheese burger on a brioche bun… simply amazing.

We really enjoyed the day, shared a lot of warmth with everyone there, and felt truly welcomed and supported by the team. We will visit again!
