After a few weeks’ break (thanks to the recovery of my elbow), June 1 felt like a return to the rhythm: back into the sauna, back into the flow. And not just anywhere – we were invited by Bahia resort. I had already heard good stories, but actually being invited? That was quite an honor.
Bahia is a wellness and swimming paradise in one. And yes, with a clear separation between the two, it is perfect – whether you want to relax completely or come with children to enjoy the swimming world with slides and fun.
Together with Imke, we gave our very first duo aufguss. It was a spice session with an Arabic theme. The first time we waved together, and it felt right away – naturally. My elbow held (thankfully) and the whole session fell together perfectly. Serene, controlled, and filled with wonderful aromas: from smoke to a new infusion I wanted to try, two great oils, and eucalyptus branches.
The Swet Room
Let me tell you about the sauna in which we gave our session: the Swet Room – a sauna experience that deserves a standing ovation. This room is made for exercise. Not just sitting and sweating, but a real aufguss training arena. You can move freely, dance, and let the scents flow with ease – because the cabin does half the work. All credit to Imke, who designed this wonderful sauna!

The Atmosphere of Bahia
Let’s talk about the atmosphere. The wellness area is calm, earthy and balanced – a surprisingly good interplay of different styles. I especially loved the woodwork in each sauna. It makes you feel connected to nature.
Oh, and speaking of nature – did I mention the treehouse sauna? Because yes, there is. Playful and earthy at the same time. A reminder that wellness can be both playful and profound.

Splash & Serenity
At one point we walked into Bahia’s swimming paradise. Laughing families, slides whizzing – pure joy, just a few steps away from our zen bubble. The contrast? Let’s just say intense. We had just finished our calm session in the Swet Room, totally zen, and then stepped right into a busy play paradise. But all credit to Bahia: they know how to balance it perfectly. The wellness area is completely separate from the splash zone. Once you step back into the sauna world, it feels like a slow exhale.

End of the day
Before we left, the lovely manager invited us to lunch. We sat down with Imke and the manager – also named Sigrid – and shared food and stories. It wasn’t just any meal; it was that warm hospitality that makes you want to come back. Oh, and the food? Absolutely fantastic!
So thank you again, Bahia, for the invitation, the care and the complete experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
