Holy Herbs Collection!

How can you use herbs to better your life?

Our very own home apothecary—only with herbs! What started as a few bags for our aufguss training quickly spiraled into a full-blown herbal obsession. Honestly, we now have enough herbs to make a medieval witch jealous. But hey, when my partner Job and I get excited about something, we go all in. Aufguss is just that kind of addictive passion.

Scrub Scrub

So far, we’ve whipped up some amazing teas and scrubs. Because honestly? I haven’t bought a store-bought scrub in a long time—who even knows exactly what’s in those? My skin is super sensitive, but with my own natural creations, I never have any issues.

With spring around the corner, I got inspired and threw together a scrub with sugar, mint, rose petals, chamomile, and orange peel. It literally smelled like a fresh spring morning in a jar! 🌸 The perfect mix for hydration, softness, and a refreshing skin boost.

my themesong for making them:

Fun Facts About Herbs 🌿

Mint = brain booster! 🧠
Feeling foggy? Sniff some mint! Studies show that the scent of mint can boost memory and alertness. So, if you ever forget where you put your keys, maybe just inhale a peppermint leaf and hope for the best.

Roses: Not Just for Romance! 💘🌿
Did you know that roses are edible? Yep, those fancy blooms aren’t just for love letters and bouquets—people have been munching on them for centuries! Rose petals and rosewater are used in everything from teas and jams to cocktails and desserts. In some cultures, they even make rose ice cream (because why should vanilla have all the fun?).

Chamomile tea = ancient chill pill ☕
The Egyptians worshipped chamomile and used it to treat everything from colds to stress. Even today, it’s the ultimate calm down drink—Mother Nature’s way of telling you to relax.

Lavender: the OG sleep potion 😴
Back in the day, Romans tossed lavender into their bathwater to relax. Today, we still use it for sleep and stress relief. Basically, we’re all just fancy ancient Romans, minus the togas (unless you’re into that).

Rosemary = nature’s deodorant! 🌹
Before deodorant existed, people carried rosemary sprigs to smell nice. Medieval students even wore rosemary garlands on their heads to help them focus. Who needs perfume when you can smell like an enchanted forest?

Thyme traveled to battle! ⚔
In medieval times, knights believed thyme gave them courage. They even tucked it into their armor before heading off to battle. So, if you need a confidence boost, maybe stash a little thyme in your pocket before your next big meeting.

How can you use these herbs?

Herbs aren’t just for scrubs—oh no, there are endless possibilities to name a few:

  • 🍵 (Iced) teas – Refreshing, fragrant, and totally customizable!
  • 💧 Infusions – Unlock deep, rich aromas and flavors.
  • 🔥 Smoke rituals – Transform your space with cleansing, mystical scents.
  • Cooking – Use dried herbs to spice up some sauces, meat or bbq rub.

And speaking of experimenting… Our enthusiastic herb haul even included some resins for smoke rituals. Then I heard that Styrax (a sweet smelling type of resin) can also be used for infusions—and you know I had to try that!
I mixed Styrax with rose and hibiscus, and WOW—the scent was like stepping into an enchanted forest. 🌺✨ Warm, floral, a little smoky… pure magic.

This discovery made me realize: there are no limits to the blends you can create! Every herb, flower, and resin opens up new possibilities. So, what will you mix up first? 😉
