Keeping things personal while embracing the digital era

In this adventure of Aufguss Creations we have always tried to keep things personal, and close to each other. Face-to face time plays a big role in coaching/training. But how is this changing in this current digital era?

We started our courses with just five training participants, Sigrid the main aufguss coach and me (Job) the assistant. Now we plan to train 8-10 people per aufguss course together, to keep that level of personal attention to ensure a high pace of the training.

After we started we quickly realised people leave our courses filled with inspiration, but we’ve worked on soo many towel waving moves, would they remember them all tomorrow? Or a week from now? It would be a shame if knowledge gets lost, after all you paid for it and took the effort to follow a course, you’d want to benefit from that the most.

So we started with making recap waving videos specifically made to help repeat moves from the aufguss training at home. People loved that, they had no distractions during the waving course (they didn’t need to film anything, or worry about remembering) and after they could repeat every move until perfection.

Exploring our digital possibilities

This led to a shift in our behaviour, we were trying to keep things personal though face-to-face time, but we now realised we can do the same in a digital format, with the important note that the digital teachings is not a standalone solution, it ties together with the physical courses to bring knowledge in different formats to keep participants learning.

This shift led us to create two new digital courses

• Digital Aroma & Workshop Kit (98€)

We pair a physical product with a digital workshop on the use and safe management of three different aroma methods, the aroma course is custom made to fit the contents of the kit (essential oils, infusions & smoke ritual aroma’s), guiding a participant though the methods combining theory with practise. using different video course modules (intro, oils, smoke & infusions)

We also made digital waving lessons with a low-barrier price and good pace of learning new things.

• Waving course recap videos via Patreon

In this Patreon membership we regularly post coached waving videos  in three categories: basic-, advanced- and showwaving. Due to the phased roll-out of all categories every skilllevel of saunamaster can join and start learning. Besides that, we also think its important to share other skills or inspiring people. Together with a comment section you can engage with us, share and grow together.

We actually started enjoying making these videos, and we hope to reach and inspire more aufguss masters in different parts of this world, or just people who have a sauna at home and wish to ‘wow’ some guests with aroma experiences.

Sometimes its smart not to rush into the ‘highly efficient’ digital world… We’ve chosen to take our time, and understand what our participants want, all these decisions were all made based on questionnaires filled out during courses this past year. Even the price of the Patreon (5€ a month) was directly provided to us by participants who shared their willingness to pay.

We aim to listen to saunamasters and innovate on their desires.

Our next project will focus on our course location and to provide a full managed experience (training, hotel, food, sauna). As planning your visit when you join a course can be stressful we wish to make it as easy as possible.
