How we developed our Products

Lets build a shop I (Job) said enthusiastically to Sigrid, ‘nah that’s a bit outside my comfort zone’ she said, but she was interested, ‘but how would we do that?’ and ‘what can we sell?’. During our brainstorm session one thing became clear, I was excited to create new things, being a handyman and someone who can’t sit still long, I really enjoy developing new things, create something real from an idea is in my opinion a really fun process of failure….

That sounds a bit weird I know, but developing is nothing more than to try, fail, learn & improve. It’s really not all that difficult.

I asked Sigrid what type of products she likes to start with, she didn’t know exactly but she knew one thing, ‘we should create unique tools & products specifically tailored to saunamasters, that they can use to learn, grow or explore.’ Okay! Food for thought..…..

Two months later. During a training it hit me, a combined package of natural aroma’s put together for simplicity, usability and quality. We select the aroma’s and use a nice kit so present/protect them. People can learn from using the aroma’s and refill them with a discount at aromen.be

Pretty unique, it’s a tool, it’s building on new knowledge as there will be 3 aroma methods inside. After a meeting with Martijn from Aromen, who loved the idea, we teamed-up to create the Aroma Kit. Paired with a digital workshop on how to use everything its complete, our first product.

Our next idea actually came from something unexpected. A big desire from us is to give back to the sauna community, we have been given so much love from everyone that we wish to create something to share.

We always loved natural infusions, one of our favourite topics in the courses. It has a multi-use, on the stove, and as a (iced) tea, its easy to make and safe to use. And for many of our participants it was a new (and exciting) topic… even though it’s so simple.

This led to the creation of our Herbal Infusion bags, to give away at events, and to share creative mixes of a simple aroma method. To revive the joy of just making a sauna-tea ritual or to explore unique herb combinations to create one amazing smell.

We had soo much joy in the creation process that it paid of already! It was also great fun to hand out some bags during the Aufguss WM in Italy this year (even though I (Job) had to pass the airport customs with 15 herb infusion bags stuffed in my duffelbag… I didn’t even get searched lol!! )

We made all product images ourselves in our office.

That’s how we develop our Shop, find cool ideas that have multipurpose, and are fun to make and fun and valuable to use.
