This aufguss masterpiece embodies the profound philosophy that less is indeed more. It’s not about making aufguss easier; instead, it’s about crafting an atmosphere that captivates and sharing a compelling story. “Reflections” was born out of a challenge posed by Hans Dolman (former owner Thermen Berendonck), make a show that does not need an introduction. At the heart of “Reflections” lies a narrative of two souls remarkably similar, often mistaken for each other by co-workers and guests alike. The idea was sparked by our liking for dressing alike during aufguss sessions and our synchronized movements. When we presented this concept to our superiors, they were fascinated and encouraged us to showcase it at the Netherlands championship.
“Reflections” invites guests to step into a mesmerizing realm where everything shimmers and reflects. With water-filled vases glistening and mirrors on the stove’s sides, the cabin came to life. A simple hand mirror transformed into a portal of wonder. As I raised it, a light behind me illuminated a curtain, concealing a large mirror devoid of my reflection. A sudden darkness, followed by a reveal of my reflection (Rianne), left guests amazed (see middle top picture)
In the first round, we divided the cabin as if it were the mirror’s edge. The second round unveiled a mysterious twist—the mirror revealed another person identical to me. This phase was a test of trust, showcasing our shared journey while highlighting our differences with distinct colored vests. The final round harmonized our similarities and celebrated our unique qualities. As the light once again illuminated the mirror at the aufguss’s end, I vanished, leaving only my reflection (Rianne) and the blue vest from the second round. Did it truly happen, or was it a mirage? “Reflections” taught us that aufguss can be more than a wellness experience; it can be a captivating journey of self-discovery and enchantment.
What set this show apart was its infusion of modern classics and synchronized performance, creating a magical cabin experience.
